Winter was never meant to be a grind.
That isn't how our bodies were designed. Somehow though, through history, that seasonal connection has been lost or mostly forgotten.
Traditionally, winter didn't mean no activity--it meant different activity and fewer demands. In many climates, the weather actually made the daily routines and chores more difficult and labor intensive, but the days being shorter meant people got more rest, and had fewer extra chores and duties overall than they did during the growing and harvesting seasons. More time for indoor projects, slower paced activities, and a season with a little more rest.
Compare that to many of the ideas we are sold every "New Year". The push to start new intense workouts and exercise routines, extreme diets and unattainable, restrictive eating plans, that many times leave us feeling defeated because we couldn't stick with them. (And maybe your resolutions have already been delegated to "maybe next year"?)
Our goal with the Winter Warmth, Rest, and Renewal Guide is to challenge that frenzied thinking, and provide a reminder about what used to be the norm-living more in tune with the seasons.
It gives practical suggestions to match activities, eating, sleeping, and resting with what is happening outside. It is a season-aligned, body-honoring approach that works with winter instead of against it—using nourishment, warmth, rhythm, and gentle homeopathic support.
